Outside Blog 6

For my outside blog I was sitting at home and didn't couldn't find my remote and stumble on the country channel with reba and kelly clarkson I actually like reba I want her show all the time and kelly clarkson is also a good singer but i was watching the video to "Because of You" and started to like it I knew a little of the song well some of the chorus because I heard it before from someone else who singed it so I kinda knew it but I was really liking how they were singing the lyrics how passionate the words were coming out of there mouths in the video. So I I thought it was funny how I heard someone else sing this song and never thought about it until kelly clarkson remade it. This made me think of our poetry it is how someone sing or say the text that makes you really understand or like it. Giving emotions to music, poetry, or anything is a major key to capturing any audience. Kelly made that song modern and up to date.

  1. Great song. And yeah i agree some poems or lyrics sound deeper actually coming from a persons voice. Now don't quote me on this but i think that Kelly's version was actually the original and then Reba and her made a country version. Unless someone else created it a decade or so ago which is possible. Also another interesting fact, if you listen to the acoustic version of this song or alot of others, you can feel even more emotion (if its a good artist)

  2. I have been a Reba fan for a long long time. I like a lot of the newer country music but I was raised on the 70's and 80's country music. I find my self looking for the oldies all the time when Im driving down the road.

  3. That is a wonderful song. I love listening to the country station every know and then. It is amazing how one person can change the whole song! Just like poetry when Mrs. Stephanie reads it, it sounds wonderful.

  4. I think Ryan is correct, and that Kelly is the originator. Kelly's acoustic version is so filled with emotion it makes me cry about every time. Having listened to the words and interpreting the song for myself, I never really understood the video with her and Reba. My interpretation was that the girl (kelly) was singing about her mother, where in the video, Reba appeared to be more of a friend.

What a great song to sing. When I bought the Reba duets cd, that song was on it. My Mom, who never really liked country music listened to it and decided that if we were to ever do karaoke together, that this song was her first choice for us to sing together. My mom and I do great harmony. Actually, she does the harmony, leaving me to take the lead.
