Outside Blog 3

Today became a sad day after I came home from work and was told Michael Jackson the "king of pop" suddenly passed away from a heart attack. When I checked the Internet to see if it was breaking news it absolutely was but to me the Internet cant be your only source just because all the false stuff you can but on it. When I turned on the television it was plastered all over the TV from CNN, Showbiz Tonight, and VH1. You couldn't help but to get interested even if you didn't care for him. I watched them talk about him all night just because they kept luring me in saying stay tune on more information about his death then they would come back on the air and repeat the same thing they said moments before. I started to think they wouldn't give up anymore information I was switching back and forth from different news channels because they were procrastinating the new information to me but from the info I did get watching the press talk about what happened to him and showing images of him lying on the stretcher was really heartbreaking and surreal. When they but the fans on the TV and I seen them crying with posters displayed saying how much they loved him made me even sad but once I seen the cheerful and rejoicing fans it made me feel a little better. As I was thinking about Michael's death it made me think about a family member who died this year and how he got the same type of supporter that Mike did. After thinking about that I started to think positive and turn my sadness into happiness.

  1. I agree, Michael was the man and that is terrible he passed away and at such a young age. I already heard though on the radio the other day the rumor that he has a new CD that is being released. Who knows if it is true or not. And the music industry definitely lost a great one.

  2. MJ was my first big music crush. I adored him and watched his videos constantly. Thriller was my favorite album. Even though he definitely got weird in the last few years, I respected him.

Your observations about the media were interesting.

  3. It is very sad to see the King of Pop leave us so soon. I also was shocked to see this. I thought it was a joke or a lie. Michael and Farrah and Edwin all in one day, it's terrible. When I watched the news they were asking if people would remember him for his music or would they remember the crazy things he did recently. Everyone said they would remember the music. He made some weird mistakes but everyone makes mistakes we just don't see it because we aren't famous. I will most definetely remember his moonwalk.
